Welcome to the house tour! Learn more about our DIY projects, how we updated our builder grade home, and how we made our house beautiful, simple AND comfortable. If you’re looking for sources, paint colors, furniture or decor details – check out the Shop the House menu to see where we bought that lamp, rug, pillow etc. for each room.
When we first moved in, our entryway got a little update with a DIY Ikea Hack, new paint on the door and an updated light fixture. Every season this area gets decorated over and over again – you can see all entryway posts here.
Ah, the heart of our home. For some, it’s the kitchen, but since I don’t like to cook – the heart of our home is the living room. When we first moved in, we didn’t change much. We kept our comfy sofa from our last house, built a sofa table and made big plans for the room. I changed the rug a few times, updated the curtains and added an accent chair.
Recently, I was able to collaborate with Joss & Main for a new sofa and we cozied up with some modern recliner chairs. A few more rug changes and a tv console update completed the living room for fall.
And then, of course, another simpler change with removing the bench, painting the board and batten and adding new chairs.
In true Allison fashion, I updated it again just a few months later and added a new sign.
One of my favorite projects, our DIY barn door stayed for the new design and we use it every day as a barrier between our bedroom and bathroom.
Our master bath is very builder grade. In the three years in our home, I have only painted and updated our towel bars to these hooks. But I have big plans this spring to update this room for the One Room Challenge.
When I first decided to make this little-angled portion of our hallway my office, I was all about the rustic design and details. Then a year later, I simplified things a little and got myself a new fancy chair.
Once again, I have plans to update this space too. It’s truly become my little space in the house and where I like to sit and write blogposts, browse Pinterest and shop online.
More rooms coming soon!
