Hello, and Happy Tuesday! Or as I like to call it, Fixer Upper Tuesday. It is really my favorite day of the week. I’d even go as far to say I like Tuesdays better than Fridays. Have you seen the show? Joanna Gaines and her husband Chip are the amazing duo of Magnolia Homes that completely transform homes. Joanna also has her own home décor shop Magnolia Market, its my dream to visit Waco, TX and shop there one day! But, until that happens, luckily most items are available online!
I ordered this beautiful wood planter basket a few weeks ago! I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to do with it, but I knew I’d figure out something. I just had to have it, and have something from Magnolia Market in my home. I had many ideas for its use – maybe I’d put it outside for flowers, use it in the living room to hold magazines, or in the kitchen for utensils, but deep down I knew it’d find its way into my dining room.
And that’s exactly what happened! So, I had to do a little rearranging. Styling shelves is probably my favorite thing to do right now and believe it or not its a little therapeutic for me. I truly enjoy the process of moving items around until I’ve got it just right!
On a recent trip to my favorite store, Target, I picked up these cute labels in The Dollar Spot section. I knew they’d be perfect little labels for silverware. I already had the wide mouth mason jars and silverware. I simply stamped the letter with white ink, and tied the label around the jar – quickest craft project I’ve done in a long time.
I also picked up the round white plates at Target for $2 each. Can you believe they are actually plastic? The square gray plates I bought last year in the clearance section. I’m loving this little vignette and best part is I can grab it and go if we have an impromptu BBQ or gathering outside.
A cake stand with more plates, geometric bowls, metal basket with napkins and a clearance bread board finished off this area of the dining shelves. And of course, all items are from Target.
My plans for these shelves are to eventually have all white dishes and everything glass or white ceramic. I think I’m getting there, but have a few more items and sections to go.
What do you think about using the wood planter basket in the dining room? I’m sure this is one of those items that will find a spot in every room of the house!
