Fall has came to our dining room and I’ve decorated our shelves! If you follow on Instagram and are playing along with #ProjectVignette, our theme this week is mantles and shelves. Unfortunately, we don’t have a fireplace in our home. It was an option when we built, but we didn’t see a need to spend the extra money. We had a fireplace in our old apartment and never used it, go figure. Anyways, I’m still playing along and sharing my dining shelves, recently updated for fall.
My dining shelves from Target are still one of my favorite purchases. If you’re noticing something just a little different, you’ve got a good eye. Yep, I took out the top shelf in the middle. I created the Oats & Co art by using a dish towel from H&M Home and a frame from Michael’s. I loved it so much, but had no where to put it. I’m loving the missing shelf and now when Christmas comes around and I bring out my hot chocolate bar, the missing shelf will make it easier to open and close my Keurig. But I’m getting ahead of myself, so back to fall.
I love symmetry, so I used everything I had in twos. When I picked up a whole bunch of pumpkins at Michael’s during their big sale a few weeks ago, I was sure I had bought too many. Apparently not, because I just cannot get enough of these white pumpkins. The olive buckets were a clearance find at Target.
I spotted these mini loaf dishes at Michael’s and they were just too cute to pass up, plus I can keep them around till Thanksgiving. I actually think I will be keeping this whole set up. Only a few more weeks and I’ll be switching it all up for Christmas. There I go talking about Christmas again, sorry. The wood slices are also from Michael’s, and the white pillar candles are a clearance find from Target a few years ago. I also used them in my entryway during the summer. I love functional pieces that get moved around the house.
Below my DIY artwork and glass cloches, also from Michael’s, I used my Magnolia Market wood tool box and filled it up with candles and pinecones. Easy, simple and classic. You can see how I used my wood tool box before. By the way I’m so anxious for new episode of Fixer Upper!
Keeping my shelf decor neutral and full of pumpkins tied in nicely with my existing pinecone & white pumpkin filled herb boxes and cotton wreath. All of these items were from Decor Steals and you can see more on that post. Now the dining room has the essence of fall and finally the weather has cooled down some, its getting closer and closer to actually feeling like fall around here.
What do you think? Am I nuts for removing a shelf? I’ve been wanting a change in this room (more on that later) and this was perfect. Happy Fall Y’all!
