I was inspired by my recent DIY mudcloth pillow and wanted to create a mudcloth pumpkin. The pattern I created was a little more simpler than I used on my pillow, so I wouldn’t call this a mudcloth pumpkin but more of a modern pumpkin. The black pumpkins seem to be very popular this year and they are perfect for Halloween.

DIY Modern Black Pumpkin Craft Supplies
- black craft pumpkin, I got mine HERE
- metallic marker
I used varying strokes, some horizontal and some diagonal and different angles to create the pattern. It was super easy and fast – my favorite kind of project. Don’t worry about it being perfect, once the pumpkin is complete the imperfections are hardly noticeable. I used a silver metallic marker, but a white marker or metallic gold would look great too.
I finished off my tablescape with some Target Dollar Spot gray pumpkins. The dollar spot had so many amazing holiday decor items this season. They sell out quick and I’m bummed they don’t sell online yet.
This year, I’ve been craving more simplicity and its flowing over into my holiday decor. I love Halloween and have a few more decor ideas and craft projects to share later this week!
