I’m so excited to be sharing our holiday home! If you are hopping over from one of the other fabulous blogger homes, HELLO! And if you are new to A House and A Dog – WELCOME! This blog is all about beautiful living, comfortably in all aspects of our lives. Take a look around, learn more about me, take a house tour, and see my favorite projects.
This year I wanted to keep it simple and white! I was also desperately wanting a flocked tree, so I decided to just add some flocked stems from Michaels to my existing tree. This is our third christmas in our house and I love this tree so I didn’t want to ruin it by flocking it myself. So the stems are a great alternative.

I picked up most of my ornaments from Target – shop them below – and found all the white ball ornaments from Michaels. I must say I love the monochromatic tree and all the white is exactly how I envisioned it. Technically our tree is in our entryway, so I will be sharing more of it later this week. But, since our floor plan is so open I kinda just think of our living room, entryway, dining and kitchen all in one. So you’ll get sneak peeks of all today!
I collaborated with Canvas HQ to create Twas the Night Before Christmas book art and they are the perfect backdrop. I love how bright and simple they are. We will be doing a giveaway soon on Instagram, so stay tuned!
These simple and gorgeous wreaths from Hayneedle are the perfect touch to our large sliding doors. I’d eventually love to replace these doors with french doors, but for now they work just fine for us. I’ve always seen wreaths in windows on Pinterest and decided this was the year to replicate the look in our home.
My faux windows with clips from Kirklands are perfect for displaying Christmas cards and I also added some snowflakes for a little whimsy. I save the Christmas cards we receive every year and of course I use all the white and neutral colored ones to display.
This little reading corner got a little Christmas makeover too. If you haven’t realized, I’m obsessed with snowflakes and use them in my decor every year. My snowflake art from Vol 25 is the finishing touch on my living room decor.
I added a few white throws and white pillows to the sofa for my white and bright theme. I love how simple our decor is becoming but it still has a Christmas feel. To be completely honest, this past weekend I got a little Christmas crazy and it looked like Christmas exploded in our house and I had to scale it back a little to keep my mind clear again. 🙂
