I’m so excited to be sharing our home with A Very Farmhouse Christmas house tour! If you are hopping over from one of the other fabulous blogger homes, HELLO! And if you are new to A House and A Dog – WELCOME! This blog is all about beautiful living, comfortably in all aspects of our lives. Take a look around, learn more about me, take a house tour, and see my favorite projects.
The one room in our home that says farmhouse like no other is our dining room – the rustic table, shiplap wall, and plate racks are still one of my favorite parts of the room. I wanted to create a simple and rustic tablescape so when I saw the wooden chargers at Target and the little wreath plates, I knew they would be perfect!

The Christmas tree details on the chargers are the cutest touch and I can’t believe they were only $3 each. For the center of the table, I used round birch wood slices, more Target Dollar Spot miniature trees, flameless candles, and white antlers. I kept it simple and rustic.
Above my plate racks, I added some garland and twinkle lights. Since I installed this shiplap over the summer, I had the vision of that greenery for Christmas. Actually, when I was decorating the rest of our home for Christmas I got a little “Christmas crazy” but when I added that greenery to my shiplap wall I remembered how simple I wanted our Christmas decor and took a lot of it down. 🙂
Our pencil tree was left simple this year with just a few flocked stems and twinkling lights, the size is perfect for this room. A little basket from Target (shop below) is the perfect tree skirt.
I reused my metal letters from Hobby Lobby to create JOY with a simple wreath from Hayneedle. However, I wanted to create a different look than last year, so I spray painted them white for a fresh look.
Our dining room has come along way this year and I might have something up my sleeve for next year, that I can’t wait to share! Hope you enjoyed the farmhouse tablescape. Don’t forget to check out the other bloggers on the tour today!
