Plus there was another issue – every time someone googled “a house and a dog” or searched on Pinterest, DIY doghouses and images of dogs being potty trained showed up. Sorry, but thats not what I wanted to be associated with. I also felt like the “house” in my name limited me to only sharing house projects and decor. Which don’t get me wrong, that’s what I absolutely love and I will continue to share that. However, our little house can only handle so many projects (come on I’ve redone our dining room like 4 times, lol 🙂 ). Plus, I really feel we are finally getting to a place that our house is almost done and completely how I’ve always pictured it. So like I told Joe, unless we plan on moving every few years this blog can’t continue on with just house projects.
Not only do I love to share house stuff, but I’ve always wanted to share more of our lives. I’m not saying we live some super exciting life or anything like that, but I’d love to share a little more recipes, fashion posts, beauty products I use, etc. I started doing that a little bit this year in my Friday Favorites posts and they seemed to be pretty popular! However, I just felt like the “house” in my blog name was still holding me back. Like why is this girl from “a house and a dog” sharing her favorite summer sandals?? Shouldn’t she be sharing pictures of her dog? Which by the way, Scooby will still make his appearances on Instagram, because after all he is a part of our life. 🙂
Once I started sharing more and more, the “house and a dog” just seemed more and more not right. Plus, like Joe said once I make up my mind about something, it’s usually a done deal and there is no going back or convincing me otherwise. So here I am taking a leap of faith about wanting this little blog to be long term, to share all the things, and just be me. Cause I still am. I’m not changing, my style might of changed a bit – I’m a little more modern now than so much farmhouse. But that’s kinda who I always was.
I’m super excited about this new blogging journey and I have so many projects and things to share! I hope you’ll continue to follow along and enjoy the new blog!
