SHOP FALL ENTRY

I have been dyyyyying to share our fall entry since I completed it last week, I shared a few sneak peeks on Instagram but I wanted to just share it allllllll! If you have been following along on my Instagram stories (that’s where I share a lot of behind the scenes and projects I’m working on before they hit the blog) then you have seen this massive wall project I started a couple weeks ago.
I’m obsessed! This is probably one of the best ideas I have had for our home in a long time. Somehow this summer, my style morphed into a more California causal style and i wanted our entryway to reflect that.
Another big change I made to our entry was painting my Ikea dressers a gorgeous green. The color is Peacock House by Valspar and its the perfect dark green for our home. I’ve been wanting to do this project for months and fall seemed like the right time for a calm and gorgeous green. I also spray painted the handles a brass color to match our brass round mirror.
Speaking of spray paint, I also painted one of our old lamps gold. This lamp was black, but had the perfect shape. These days, I’m all about using what we have. A $5 can of spray paint is way cheaper than a brand new lamp. Plus, it just proves you don’t have to get rid of what you love just because your style changes. Mixing gold and brass is perfect for fall. A white pumpkin and faux branches complete the look.
Our entryway has always been a hard space for me to decorate. It’s angled, awkward and oversized. Painting our front door black was a bold move, but I LOVE it. It adds depth to the space and defines it a little more. The color is Dark Kettle Black by Valspar. I was nervous at first that it would be too dark, but with our new wall color (Seashell Gray by Valspar) and white accent wall, it doesn’t seem dark at all.
I also built a little DIY bench for this corner. I have loved antique benches and Japanese inspired benches for awhile now and finally decided to just build my own. I love it!
I added one of my new pillows from Modern Clementine and these tree ring prints from Etsy. I think it’s the perfect modern touch to fall. I printed them at Walgreens in size 11×14, used these frames from Michaels, and added a picture mat for a more custom look.
I’ve had this faux rug for awhile and never found the right spot for it, but its great for anchoring pumpkins. Both pumpkins are from Michael’s and I love the new colors they have out this year, like this navy one.
We’ve made so many changes to our home this year, sometimes I can’t even believe it’s the same house. Next week, I’ll be sharing a full fall house tour and can’t wait!
