I tried to do something different with the gray, but I always imagined the room white and wanted to lighten up the space. Plus, I think I missed the white from the shiplap wall we had before. I went back and forth on my decision for the last few months, but since doing our paneled wall in the living room, the gray dining room just seemed out of place. Because our home has such an open floor plan, all the spaces need to blend cohesively and paint is the perfect way to do that.
Okay now that the paint is out of the way, I did something simple and quick for our Thanksgiving decor. I used what we had from around the house – the white vases and the faux pumpkin. On a trip to Michaels I found the red branches for less than $4. So this whole update cost me about four bucks and a little time around the house. Win-win!
And I hung up one of my favorite seasonal pieces from Vol 25. After I painted the walls, I thought the chairs made everything a little too white, but now I love it. It just took a couple days to get used to. I love how bright and airy the room is now, plus it looks so clean!
Just a quick little update for Thanksgiving, and then it’s all about Christmas in a few weeks! Christmas is definitely my favorite time of year and I can’t wait to get started.

What do you think? Do you decorate for Thanksgiving or go right into Christmas?
