Every time I post on social media, especially Instagram Stories, I get dozens of questions about specific items in our home. Whether it’s the tufted headboard in our bedroom, our dining room table, or our entryway console, I’m always happy to answer them. (post contains affiliate links, see disclosure)
PAINT COLORS
I finally found the perfect gray paint color for our home and it is the most frequently asked question. The color is Seashell Gray by Valspar. If you are wondering about our door colors, moldings, etc. check out this post!
FLOORING
Ah. My favorite thing about our house. They are Pergo’s Modern Oak and we installed them ourselves. You can read all about how we decided on the color, our DIY installation, the reveal, and how I keep them clean.
ENTRYWAY CONSOLE
I always get asked where I bought our entryway console, but guess what? It’s a DIY too! You can see the full post on how I did it and how easy it was! Ps. they’ve got a makeover a few times – painted green, then black, and I still have another makeover up my sleeve!
DINING ROOM TABLE
I know I already said our floors are my favorite thing, but my favorite piece of furniture is definitely our dining room table. It’s rustic but modern and the perfect color. I love the whole collection from West Elm! I also get asked how I clean it – I wipe up any messes or spills with a damp kitchen towel and I vacuum up crumbs with our Dyson and small attachments.
DINING CHANDELIER
Are you ready for this? $69 at Lowe’s. The simplest light fixture and one of the first things we changed when we moved in. Unfortunately, it’s no longer available but I found a similar one for the same price!
LAUNDRY ROOM DOOR
Even though we installed it ourselves, it was not a DIY. It’s from Rustica Hardware and you can read about how I designed the door and the full reveal of our laundry room. Ps. if you contact Rustica Hardware and refer to my laundry door, they can make one just like it for you!
TUFTED HEADBOARD
Every time I share a photo of our bedroom, I get asked about our tufted headboard. The secret is – I painted it with fabric paint and you can read about why in this post. However, the closest color to the one we have is the Linen Talc or Velvet White.
NIGHTSTANDS
Surprise! Another DIY and another one of my favorites! You can see how I did it and where I got the inspiration in this post. Check out the Shop the House page for links to sources in *almost* every room of the house. If you like before and after posts, check out the House Tour!
