It’s the reveal day of our neutral guest bedroom! I am so excited to be at week six of the One Room Challenge and be completely done with my space! This is my third One Room Challenge, and the second time I have completed it. I started my first challenge with our master bedroom. Then, tried to do our master bathroom for a second go-around, but didn’t finish within the six weeks. So this time, I was determined to finish no matter what! BEFORE
NEUTRAL GUEST BEDROOM DESIGN

I thought my biggest DIY was going to be installing new flooring, but it was the easiest. The flooring is the same Pergo Modern Oak throughout the rest of our home. Click here for all the details! The hardest DIY was the board and batten I installed in week three, and then giving everything a fresh coat of ultra white paint.
NEUTRAL GUEST BEDROOM REVEAL
A few weeks ago, I did a poll in my Instagram stories regarding a full size or queen size bed for a guest space. The vote was for a queen, but for the size of our room, I am so glad I chose the full size. Most of the time, my mom is the only one staying with us, and the full size is perfect for her. Choosing this low profile, modern bed, visually created more space in the room and doesn’t just look like a small room with a big bed. Plus, with the full size, there is plenty of space to walk around.
Loving our new window shade from Select Blinds. It is the Classic Roman Shade in the color Cloud White. I chose the cordless option for easy operating and no cord clutter! Installation was a breeze and I love how much light comes into the room even when the shade is pulled down. Plenty of light, but still private for our guests.
I love the graphic art from Etsy and how it compliments the rug so well. I had them printed at my local drugstore and used my favorite frames. For the decor, I used everything I already had including the lamp, wood stump table, glass bottles, books, and accent pillows. I kept it simple, neutral and clean.
DESIGN DETAILS
Another last minute DIY project was the floor mirror. It wasn’t part of the original plan, but after emptying the room, I discovered a wall cable that needed to be hidden. A leaning mirror was the perfect solution and it’s always nice to have a large mirror in any space, plus it’s great for guests. The wood tone of the mirror wasn’t right, so I painted it with some leftover gray chalk paint.
I am obsessed with our new rug from RugsUSA. It’s a graphic print, neutral color, and the perfect size for the room. RugsUSA has so many options and after much back and forth I finally decided on this one. The diamond pattern added the interest and detail I needed to make the neutral bedroom not look too boring. The rug sets the tone for the whole room!
I also kept the bedding simple with white crisp sheets and a diamond pattern coverlet. The pillows are covers I already had from years ago, and again I kept it simple. I am still in shock by the change in this room! It is now my favorite room in the house, which is awesome because this used to be the room I hated the most. A once cluttered, dark, and dreary room, is now fresh, clean, and beautiful.
A special thanks to RugsUSA and Select Blinds for helping me create the perfect guest bedroom!
