When creating the perfect space for your guests, I have a few tips for the guest bedroom to make the room feel comfortable and inviting. With all the traveling my family and I do, I’ve picked up on a few things along the way. These tips make it easier for you and easy for your guests! (post contains affiliate links, see disclosure)
SIMPLE BEDDING
I never want my guests to feel overwhelmed by trying to make the bed exactly the way I had it made. A simple coverlet and a couple of toss pillows is something anyone can do.
DON’T CLUTTER THE TABLE WITH DECOR
Guests need space to put down their own belongings, like a phone, wallet, jewelry, etc. If they feel like the accent table or nightstand is already full of decor and other objects, there is no room for their stuff.
LUGGAGE RACK OR CLOSET SPACE
Depending on how long a guest is staying, a place to hang their clothing is always a nice touch. In our guest bedroom, the closet is mostly storage, however, I installed hooks on the inside of the door for anything that needs to be hung. And for short trips, a luggage rack is also nice when living out of a suitcase. The luggage rack can be stored under the bed or in the closet when not in use. A dirty laundry bag is also a bonus!
NOTEPAD OR CARD
I always write down the WiFi password, alarm code, and important phone numbers for my guests. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy but just provide the information needed. I created this FREE printable if you need it!
CREATE A WELCOME GIFT
Provide your guests with everything they will need for the stay in a cute basket or oversized tray. Use what you have around the house! Fill it with clean towels, the notepad of info, a couple of water bottles, a travel-size toiletries kit, etc. Anything you think your guests will need.
I hope these tips for the guest bedroom make your guests feel welcome and make having guests easier for you! I think it’s important to add those special touches to make them feel comfortable and that they have everything they need.
