I must say that 2019 has been one of the best years I have had in a long time. It was such a great year, I’m not even sure I want it to end. In the past, I usually can’t wait for the new year because it always feels like a new start, I set new goals and have a fresh outlook. However, this year I feel like I don’t need a new start or a fresh outlook. I am perfectly fine just how life is right now and am loving our home. But, just for fun, I wanted to share the 2019 year in review. It’s my favorite projects from this year and the top posts (according to analytics) from the blog.
DIY BUILT-INS | IKEA BILLY BOOKCASE HACK
Definitely my favorite project from this year too! These built-ins completely changed the look of our home. It feels like they were made for this house and have always been there. They were the perfect solution to the awkward niche that used to bug me so much!
WINDOW COVERING FOR GLASS FRONT DOOR
Another favorite that solved a problem for our home. Our Select Blinds motorized shade eliminated the pesky curtains that used to have to be pulled back and forth each day. Now we are fancy and use a remote!
FAVORITE VALSPAR GRAYS
Finding a gray paint color for your home can be a little bit difficult. Grays can look blue, purple, or even green depending on lighting so I rounded up a few of my favorite gray paint colors.
BLACK FARMHOUSE CHANDELIERS
One of the most frequently asked questions about our home is “where is your dining room chandelier from?” It has now been discontinued, so I rounded up a whole collection of chandeliers that are similar.
GUEST BEDROOM REVEAL
Wow! All of your project favorites are mine too! Definitely another favorite for our home and I’m just glad it’s done and it’s now an official guest bedroom instead of a catch-all space. Sometimes it still is – but I am quick to get boxes put away and clutter cleaned up to keep the room looking great.
LIVING WITH A WHITE SOFA
I shared all the answers to the questions I get about our white sofa. It has held up great over the years and is still going strong. It gets the most use of any of our furniture. Plus, I shared eight other white sofa options!
12 MINIMAL DECOR MUST-HAVES
Since completely revamping our home and donating over half of our decor, I shared 12 items that are must-haves. I have been using them year after year and throughout the holidays.
LIVING ROOM DESIGN
The start of my built-in project and my original design plans. Looking back, I must say it is pretty accurate. Update: check out the DIY fireplace and DIY mantel with storage!
GUEST BATH REVEAL
Okay, I know I said that the built-ins and the guest bedroom were my favorite. But, the updated guest bathroom is really my favorite! Paint and a large mirror completely changed the look of our builder grade bathroom.
5 FREE THINGS TO IMPROVE YOUR HOME
Sometimes your home just needs a little refresh, but it doesn’t have to cost anything! A few changes can make all the difference. So, I shared free things to improve your home.
But most importantly, I can’t finish this 2019 year in review without a huge thank you to all of you! Thank you for the continued support of this little blog of mine, all the comments and shares on social media, and of course for just sticking around!
