This year I decorated a little more traditional with a green and white Christmas theme. It was easy because most of our house is white and then faux greenery instantly makes our home feel like Christmas. I spent a little too much time watching Hallmark movies this year (I’m totally addicted) and didn’t do my usual holiday house tour. However, I still have a few photos to share from around the house. Every year, I have to have my Christmas village houses on display. Since this year was the first year I got to decorate the built-ins, they were the perfect place for all my houses. The village houses are my own twist on a tradition I remember from my mother and grandmother’s holiday decor. They have always been special to me.
And here is where I have spent the last few weeks watching all those Hallmark movies. How could you not? Our King of Christmas tree is so fluffy and full of twinkle lights. The new fireplace added an extra coziness that I just could not resist.
Even the guest bathroom and laundry room got a little dose of cheer. A little greenery can go a long way in smaller rooms and instantly make it feel more like Christmas.
In the guest bedroom more faux greenery, dark green pillows, and my favorite Vol 25 prints were a simple Christmas touch. The best part is, they will look great through winter too.
In our master bedroom, more faux greenery and twinkle lights. Then, I added a few simple green and white Christmas touches to make it perfect. When I can keep the Christmas decor simple, it makes it so much easier to put up and take down every year. I don’t feel overwhelmed or get anxious about it anymore and I am able to enjoy it. This year I am even a little sad that it will all be over soon. Merry Christmas friends!
