“Is your house really that clean?” – the question that is always lingering around social media and my direct messages. The answer is, of course not. Have you seen my real house tour? However, I do try and I emphasize try to make it a priority to have a clean house with just 15 minutes a day.
With my new work schedule, I really wanted to make this a priority so that I can have my weekend free to do DIY projects and blogging stuff without making the house an entire wreck in the process. I also don’t want to spend my weekend cleaning and doing laundry because where is the fun in that? So I created a little cleaning schedule and with just a few minutes a day, I can keep the house tidy and organized.
CLEAN HOUSE IN 15 MINUTES A DAY
Download the FREE printable here! Each day is broken down into different rooms with simple quick tasks that add up to a clean house. This list is tailored to my home, but I also tried to leave it generic so it can work for anyone. Set a timer and try to do as much as you can. Assign certain tasks to family members and have everyone participate. Play your favorite music playlist, dance, and sing along. Make it fun, instead of feeling like a chore!
THE ALL OR NOTHING CLEANER
I read this article from Real Simple years ago and it changed everything for me. It was about cleaning personalities. I used to be an all or nothing cleaner. I did not clean at all until it was absolutely unbearable and needed a really deep cleaning. I was a binge cleaner. I would spend a whole day cleaning, and then not clean again for weeks. But I’ve learned over the years that making an effort to tidy up just a few minutes a day really helps. It’s what the article suggested, and it actually worked.
“Doing a quick tidy in the morning will satisfy your need to have a clean environment.”
