Inspired by large European found pottery, these popular lamps are stunning. And so is their price tag, some are between $800-$1,000! That is on the high end and the lowest I have found is around $300 and that is still too high for me. Have you seen the black lamp makeovers from @jaci.daily on Instagram? I was inspired to create my own DIY faux cement lamp! (post contains affiliate links, see disclosure)
SUPPLIES
- existing or found lamp
- Rust-oleum Stone Creations, gray
- gray chalk paint
- white or black chalk paint
- paintbrush or sponge brush
STEPS
- spray lamp with Rust-oleum Stone Creations and let dry
- using a small paintbrush, brush on the gray chalk paint in small areas keeping some of the stone effect showing through
- drybrush some white or black chalk paint in different areas to create dimension and a concrete effect
This project was so easy, no lamp or vase in the house is safe! My existing glass lamps were the perfect shape and already had a pretty white shade. I’m very happy with how my faux cement lamp turned out and how similar it is to the $300 lamp. Plus, it was practically free! And if you aren’t in the DIY mood, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite stone decor pieces below.
