Being at home these last few weeks, really has me appreciating our house and making it work for us. As much as we dream and talk about moving, we aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. I’m tired of wishing and telling myself “well in the next house I will do this”. There is no next house, this is our home. So, instead of wishing and planning, I am updating our simple entryway decor. If you have been following along on Instagram lately, you have seen a few changes I have been making already. Our entryway is a pretty good size but is a little bit awkward. Adding a small chair instead of a full bench has really worked out well. It’s a great place to sit and put on your shoes but doesn’t take up too much space. We have had the coat rack for along time and it was a $12 find at Marshall’s. I’ve painted a few times and just recently painted it black for a little more drama.
I’ve also made over our Ikea dressers a few times in the past and really love their most recent update. I’m a big believer in using what you have instead of always buying new, and did the same thing with our glass lamps. They are now faux cement.
I’m so glad we have an entryway that is welcoming, functional, and beautiful. We have plenty of storage and all the changes over the years are really starting to come together! I’ve always heard a home takes time, and I believe it now more than ever. Insert heart emoji.
