It’s time for another round of the One Room Challenge and I’m so excited about this one! I have done a few of the challenges in the past, recently our guest bathroom and guest bedroom. My very first challenge was our master bedroom about four years ago. Looking back now, it was a big change at the time but is not my style anymore. (post contains affiliate links, see disclosure)
If you are not familiar, the One Room Challenge is a challenge in which featured designers and guest participants makeover a room or space in their home in just six weeks! Because of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the challenge has been extended. I’ve been working behind the scenes for the last few weeks and have lots to share. I will share the updates every week and post here on the blog every Thursday until the final reveal.

BEFORE
Our bedroom has been through a few changes over the years because it seems like I just can’t get it right. I always feel like something is missing. First, it was dark and moody, then bright and blue, then became very simple. Now I would like the room to be somewhere in between. Simple, white, but still cozy and welcoming.
DESIGN BOARD
I have really felt my style evolving in the last year or so. Of course, I still like everything simple and bright but I have been drawn to a lot of vintage style decor and art. I want to make some simple changes to our master bedroom with new decor, a DIY bed, a simple change to our nightstands, and DIY wood beams.
TO-DO LIST:
- remove the batten on the feature wall and repaint
- update nightstands
- DIY headboard
- DIY beams
- new gallery wall with a mix of vintage art
- new decor, duvet, and accessories
