Is Halloween canceled this year? It kind of feels like it is. Halloween is my second favorite holiday of the year and I’m usually very excited about decorating and have already done so. However this year, I’m just not feeling it. I might put up a few things, or add some candles, but I definitely won’t be going all out as I have in the past. So, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite simple spooky Halloween decor posts from over the years. Hopefully, it will inspire you and maybe it will inspire me too! DIY HALLOWEEN DOORMAT
Starting at the front door, I like to decorate with spiderwebs, skeletons, and bats. No cutesy Halloween decor here! I also created a DIY Halloween doormat and shared 10 clever sayings if you want to create a doormat for yourself. And If you don’t want to DIY, I shared 15 more Fall and Halloween doormats to purchase.
SIMPLY SPOOKY SHELVES
Last year, I used black spined books from the thrift store to create simple and spooky shelves. Using a black and white theme and decor items I already had around the house, they came together pretty easily. Check out this post for more Halloween decor favorites!
DIY PAPER BATS
The quickest and easiest way for me to decorate our home for Halloween are these DIY paper bats. I make them every year and put them on the walls, our front door, or wherever I want a little spook. They are so easy to make and cost almost nothing.
Candles, a few bats, and some great lighting are an easy way to create simple spooky Halloween decor inside the house without feeling overwhelming. Even if Halloween isn’t as great as years past, I’m still really excited for the month of October and all it has to bring.
