Lastly on the holiday house tour, is our simple Christmas bedroom. In case you missed it, I shared our entryway, living room, dining room, and kitchen. Ever since completing the makeover earlier this year, I couldn’t wait to see it during the holidays. The ceiling beams add an extra dose of coziness and I just wanted it to feel like a winter cabin. Honestly, I really wish we had an extra spot for another fireplace in here. (post contains affiliate links, see disclosure)
In previous years, I’ve put up a Christmas tree in our bedroom. But this year, I decided to add a large vase with faux greenery instead. When decorating for the holidays, I had to move a few decor pieces around. This vase is usually in the dining room but it looks great with faux greenery too. Above the channel headboard, I used my favorite prelit garland. It’s from Grandin Road and is no longer available but this one is very similar.
On the bed, I switched our usual gray bedding for white and added soft jersey sheets. The California winters aren’t particularly cold, but in the winter I like to have something a little more cozier and softer. My favorite green pillows and black and white pillows add to my color scheme for this year.
On our barn door, I added a simple wreath. Fun fact, the nail was still there from last year! We have had this DIY barn door for years, but I recently painted it all black for a bold modern statement. And I love it even more. It really compliments the color scheme in our home and my holiday decor.
Our simple Christmas bedroom is so cozy and honestly, I think I could have simplified it even more. There are still a couple of weeks until Christmas, so I just might. The oversized vase with faux greenery, tall birch branches, and little houses is really all you need to make it feel festive.
