It’s that time of the year where I have the urge to purge. And organize everything! I actually do this at least once a year and last year did a 31 day purge in the month of January. This year I am doing something similar and sharing an organizing challenge in my Instagram stories. Earlier this week, I worked on organizing our master bath. So, I have my top ten tips for bathroom organization. (post contains affiliate links, see disclosure)
DRAWER DIVIDERS
Use drawer dividers to help contain everyday items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, etc. I love these clear plastic stackable drawer dividers. They can be configured in so many different ways. And because they can be stacked, they work great in deeper drawers. Dollar stores have lots of plastic drawer dividers and containers. And I’ve also been noticing a lot of affordable organization items at Target.
EASY TOWEL STORAGE
I replaced the towel bars in both bathrooms with hooks many years ago. But recently added this metal ladder for extra storage in our master bath. It’s pretty, functional, and I don’t worry about the towels looking perfect.
TURNTABLE ORGANIZERS
I love these turntable organizers! I have one under our kitchen sink too. They are great for everyday items and are easily accessible. Thanks to a loyal Instagram follower who suggested putting taller items like mouthwash and lotions in the organizer. It makes access to everything under the cabinet much easier!
STACKABLE DRAWERS
These are great for bathroom cabinets and provide a lot more storage. Sometimes too much in my case. I’m trying to pair everything down this year and consume less. But stackable drawers would also work great for a family sharing one bathroom because each family member can have their own drawer.
STYLISH STORAGE
Sometimes you can’t just hide everything in a cabinet or drawer. So one of my best tips for bathroom organization is to use stylish storage. Small baskets and jars are perfect for Qtips, cotton balls, etc. Check out this post for stylish storage for every room!
MAKEUP ORGANIZER
I purchased this makeup organizer last year and it has really helped with my morning routine. Because this drawer is deep, I love that is also stackable and has a separate section underneath for items I don’t use as frequently. I have each section organized by brushes, eye makeup, lips, tools, etc.
KEEP HAIR TOOLS CONTAINED
Again because our drawers are so deep, I needed to find a way to keep my hair products and tools contained. So a simple storage bin was perfect. Gone are the days of my hairspray and heat protectant rolling around. I also only keep my everyday hair tools, like my blow dryer and straightener in here. My other curling irons, wavers, and curling wands are stored in our closet for when I need them or am feeling fancy.
USE SPACE ABOVE THE TOILET
In our guest bathroom, I built these simple box shelves to fill the awkward space above the toilet. It only has decor now, but if this was a regularly used bathroom, these shelves would be perfect for perfumes, apothecary jars, cotton balls, etc.
USE CADDIES
Luckily, we have lots of storage and bathroom drawers in our master bath. However, in our old apartment, we didn’t. So I had caddies to contain all my products and everything I would need. I had one for my makeup, nighttime routine, and face wash, and another for hair products and styling. It was a great solution because I could pull out what I needed and then put it back when I was done. Another great idea for multiple family members!
EASY ACCESS
Make everyday items easily accessible. A small container above the toilet holds extra toilet paper and is ready whenever we need to replace a roll.
I hope these tips for bathroom organization inspire you to tackle your space if needed! But don’t feel the need to purchase all the fancy organizers. A lot of times, I find I don’t need them or just use something I already have!
