It’s about that time of year where I start wanting to freshen up and clean everything in the house. Windows and doors open, sun shining, and a nice breeze is my favorite way to spend a day cleaning at home. So, I created a deep cleaning checklist to keep myself on track. It might take me a few weekends to complete, but I’m ready! (post contains affiliate links, see disclosure)
Years ago, I created a printable spring cleaning checklist but I’ve already completed my January purging and organizing. So for this list, I’ve left out all the organizing tasks and I’m just sticking with the cleaning.
WHOLE HOUSE
- clean baseboards, trim, and doors
- wash windows & window sills
- dust blinds and launder curtains
- dust light fixtures
- change batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
KITCHEN
- clean out and organize refrigerator & freezer
- vacuum behind appliances
- deep clean appliances
- clean out and organize panty, check for expired items
- clean out kitchen cabinets
- wipe the front of cabinets
LIVING ROOM
- vacuum and deep clean upholstery
- launder throw pillow covers and blankets
- dust shelf decor and frames
- dush and polish furniture
- vacuum and deep clean rug
BEDROOMS
- launder all bedding and pillows
- flip or rotate the mattress
- vacuum under the bed and behind furniture
LAUNDRY
- deep clean washer
- vacuum lint trap for dryer
- vacuum behind washer and dryer
Also, I have a 15-minute routine to clean daily but haven’t really been doing it lately. Only cleaning one room each day, wasn’t really working. I still found myself needing to clean other rooms. Clean Mama has a much better routine and I’ve been following that a little bit more. At the end of the post, I’m sharing a few of my favorite products and I’m still looking for the perfect robot vacuum.
