I have already shared the paint colors in our home, my favorite Valspar grays, favorite Valspar whites, and now I’m sharing my favorite Valspar blacks too! If you’ve followed this blog for any length of time, it’s easy to figure out that my go-to decorating colors are white, black, and gray mixed with wood tones. It’s one of my favorite combinations and fits many different decor styles. Plus, I’m sharing my tips for picking the best paint color for your home!
FAVORITE VALSPAR BLACKS
- New Black
- Cracked Pepper
- Noir
- Chimney Smoke
- Black Evergreen
- Dark Kettle Black
- Very Black
- Ebony Field
- Hematite
Dark Kettle Black is my absolute favorite. It’s the color I used on the ceiling in our guest bathroom. It’s a true black without any green or blue undertones. Our front door is painted New Black, however, most times of the day it just appears to be more of a charcoal gray or navy color. It has a lot of blue undertones. And the door needs to be repainted, so I’ll be sure to use Dark Kettle Black this time.
I also like using the same paint colors at different parts of the home for more cohesiveness. Plus it’s a lot easier to remember the name of four paint colors versus ten or twelve. And just like with any paint color, getting samples before buying is very important. Depending on your home, the lighting in each room, different times of the day, etc black paint colors can look very different. Some with blue or green undertones. How it appears online, in someone else’s home, on the swatch, and in the store will not be the same.
