It’s the middle of October and I haven’t even decorated for Halloween yet. If you are last-minute like me, you might find that all the Halloween decor at the stores has been picked over and sold out. It’s actually fine with me because now I can use what I have and get creative. So, I’m sharing all of my favorite tips for easy DIY Halloween decorations!
DIY BATS
I share this DIY bat project every year but it’s because it’s that good! All you need is black cardstock, a pencil, scissors, and tape. Trace the template, cut them out, and put them on a wall or window for quick Halloween decor.
CANDLES
Lots of candles, real or flameless, instantly set the spooky mood. Create a cluster, mix and match with create various heights. Or do a quick DIY with a crayon and white candles to make them extra creepy!
FREE VINTAGE ART
Last year, I shared 12 free vintage art portraits that are all dark and a little creepy. Just print and put it in a frame! Gladys, as I’ve named her, was perfect for Halloween decor. And I’ll be bringing her back again this year to haunt us.
PAINT
Have an old vase or bowl you aren’t using? Paint it black! Fill the vase with faux florals. Or add skeleton skulls to the bowl for easy DIY Halloween decorations.
THRIFTING
Browse thrift stores for old books or candlesticks. I found black spine books and used them to decorate our bookshelves a few years ago. It’s affordable, sustainable, and anything old looks great for Halloween.
These are just a few quick tips but basically, you can use anything you have around the house! Add some faux spider webs and any space will look ready for Halloween.
