As this year is coming to a close, I’m looking back and so far I’ve shared the most popular decorating and DIY projects. But I also wanted to share some of the “follower favorites”. These are the most clicked links and favorite home decor items of 2021 according to you! I’m not surprised by any of these items, considering they are also on the list of my most frequently asked questions. And they are some of my favorites too! SHOP FAVORITE HOME DECOR ITEMS
one | two | three | four | five | six | seven | eight | nine | It’s also not a surprise to me that most of the popular home decor items are from our dining room. It’s one of my favorite rooms too, even though it seems like it took me years to get it right. This chandelier is similar to ours (ours has been discontinued) and I love how wide it is. I’ve honestly been thinking about purchasing it myself. Our dining table is still my favorite piece of furniture and I share more about that in this post.
Adding black dining chairs to the room was the best decision ever. The room finally felt complete. I had old white ones and painted them black because they were out of stock for about a year. And these linen chairs are favorited by everyone in the house including our dog Scooby. They are the perfect mix of sophisticated but casual.
Another follower favorite is our curtain rod. Seems basic, but a traverse rod is the best thing ever. Our curtains can move back and forth easily without any brackets blocking them or interfering. It’s perfect for a large sliding glass door. Our floors are another popular item and most asked about. They’ve also been discontinued but after gathering samples for my flooring post earlier this year, I found this option that matches exactly.
This dresser is very similar to our Ikea hacked entryway console and is the perfect dupe if you don’t want to DIY. I was surprised to see the hardware from our built-ins is also a popular item. They are simple and modern, and I also used them on my office built-ins.
While it wasn’t a popular DIY post, the linen duvet I used to create our headboard is a follower favorite. It’s the perfect color and texture and I also love the matching bed skirt. Our duvet cover is similar but in gray. For me, it’s the perfect calming color combo. And this bedroom is one of my favorite places in the house.
One of my goals for next year is to create more calming spaces in our home with colors and textures. And overall elevate the spaces and furniture that we already have. I can’t wait to see what the new year brings!
