It’s the second week of the Shop the House Challenge and while I’m in the mood for Fall and already drinking pumpkin spice lattes (on ice), the California weather isn’t quite ready. With temperatures still in the hundreds, I’m not ready to bring out the pumpkins and acorns yet. So, this week I thought it would be fun to show a little bit of inspiration for transitioning into seasonal decor.

I recently repainted our round mirror. If you follow me on Instagram, you might of caught a glimpse of it in last weeks Instagram story. I originally painted it white, but something didn’t look right so I quickly changed it to black. I have been wanting a new mirror for this space for months, and loved this one at Target. But FREE paint always beats a $50 price tag, plus replacing one round mirror with another round mirror didn’t make much sense to me. 🙂
The lamps are from our master bedroom, which I will be working on very soon! Birch logs bring in a little nature without being overwhelming and copper is my new favorite fall accent. These candles smell amazing! I left my paperback books for some contrast – books are my “go to” for styling. The wire pumpkin is from last year, I found it on clearance at Target. Originally I had a white pumpkin there, but it seemed a little “too fall” for transitioning.
I also painted our galvanized tray matte black. I was tired of the galvanized look, but this tray works so great for the space. A quick $5 can of spray paint was all I needed. This high contrast and simple approach to decorating is definitely different for me and was a little bit of a challenge, but I enjoyed it. Now, if I could just get the rest of the house decorated for fall that would be great!
