Ok, so I totally thought I was done with my Christmas decor but this past weekend I was cleaning up and had an idea – a winter wonderland christmas village. The Target Dollar Spot killed it this year with their amazing finds, but these white ceramic houses have got to be one of my favorite things ever. Oh and those $3 twinkle lights – give me all the twinkle lights.
After the Christmas house tours were over, I looked around and decided I needed to simply the decor more for me. If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile then you’ll know I spent this last year simplifying everything and I continue to do it next year too, and on a whole other level!
During the summer when I was thinking about my Christmas decor, (yes I think about it that early 🙂 ) all I wanted was some simple greenery and few touches. My first idea was greenery over my plate rack and shiplap wall. Once, I played that greenery on top it took me back to my original plans for simplicity. I realized I let myself get carried away a little with the decor, but I promised myself that for next year I wouldn’t do that – then it hit me, why wait till next year? Anyways, I took a few things down and created a little Winter Wonderland Christmas village that I now love.
A Christmas village has always been a tradition for me and I remember my mother having one every year for Christmas too. I’m also pretty sure my grandmother did also, so for me it’s a little family tradition with my own twist of course.

Sometimes you gotta realize what this season is truly about and that all THE STUFF doesn’t matter. Take it back to what really matters and what you truly care about – family, friends, etc. and celebrate the season! What’s your favorite tradition?
