Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to decorate for. I usually keep it simple and contained to one part of the house, like the entryway or dining room. I also don’t keep a lot of decor in storage, so I usually keep a few key pieces and DIY or craft the rest. So, I’ve rounded up 7 almost free Halloween decorations! DIY PAPER BATS
These paper bats are a Halloween staple and I use them in our home almost every year. Sometimes, I use a lot and other times just a few. They are great to just put on the wall, on a picture frame, or mirror to add a little spooky vibe.
FREE VINTAGE ART
I love browsing and sharing free vintage art and chose a few creepy portraits perfect for Halloween.

THRIFTED BOOKS
A few years ago, I went to the thrift store and bought all the black books with gold lettering that I could find. It was the perfect way to add some simple Halloween decor to my shelves.
USE WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE
Anything can be spooky if you just add a little big of faux spider webs and candlelight. Use bowl, platters, and vases that you already have. I did and created my spooky chic halloween decor without spending any money.

POTION BOTTLES
A few years ago I created these DIY potion bottles to set a creepy scene for our dining room table. It was a simple download and I printed them out.
SPELLBOOKS
One year I wanted a witch theme for our Halloween decor and created these spell books from supplies around the house and books from the thrift store.

DIY ANTIQUE MIRROR
Make your entryway mirror or any other mirror super spooky with some black craft paint and a paper towel. I shared a tutorial video on Instagram. And when Halloween is over, it cleans up nicely with a little glass cleaner.
These are just a few ways to have almost free halloween decorations in your home every year – use what you have, craft, and thrift. It doesn’t have to cost a lot or require a lot of time to make your home simple and spooky.
